Adventures of an Intern Extraordinaire

Over the years, we've had dozens of Intern Extraordinaires whom we've had the honour of hosting and learning from. One of the best things about what we do and why we do it, is hearing stories and testimonials from our intern alumni once they have completed their internship program and reflected on their journey.

Hearing how their internship has helped them professionally, personally, how they’ve grown, the fun they had and much more is what matters to us as we strive to build a launch pad for interns to succeed in the working world (and make it a fun experience while at it!)

Check out what a few of our Intern Extraordinaires have to say about their MAD experience! :)

I absolutely loved and enjoyed my time at Mad Hat. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Regardless which industry I ended up with after my internship, my time at Mad Hat had helped me a lot in improving my writing skills and communicating skills (especially when it comes to writing emails haha!) so those skills are super helpful in any industry I go into. Tapau Thursdays is one of my most favourite Mad Hat “thing” because even though everyone could be super busy, we could all still put our work behind to have a stress-free meal together for an hour and I think that is very lovely. My advice for someone who would like to work with Mad Hat is to be prepared for the amount of group chats they will be added into and to be able to keep up on all the messages from all group chats hahaha. Keeping up with all the messages from all the different group chats at the same time can be very overwhelming because gosh, sometimes all the messages start coming and they don’t stop coming (Hey now, you’re an all star... :P). So yes, they need to be prepared for constant beepings from their phones haha. That is all from me! Thank you for having me in Mad Hat!

My internship at Mad Hat was a great learning experience that I truly cherished and enjoyed. In all honesty, I am very shy and soft-spoken but as soon as my internship began, they made me feel so welcomed and as part of their Hatter family. If you were to ask me to name the best memory I have while I was working there, I'd be at a loss for words because there are just so many to choose from! Every day can be an adventure with the Hatters - from going on hiking trips before work to having a good music 'sesh' while getting our work done. I cannot emphasize more that being a Hatter literally encompasses the phrase 'Work Hard, Play Hard'. As much fun as I had working at Mad Hat, it also helped me professionally. As a law graduate, I entered Mad Hat with zero Public Relations experience. However, that did not stop them from taking a 'Chanch' on me. They gave me so many opportunities to learn, which opened my eyes to so many rewarding skills, such as content creation, communication and teamwork. If you are looking for a place to learn and have fun, Mad Hat is the perfect place for you :D

A niche experience as MCO was going on as I started my internship but my team made me super comfortable and we made the best of the situation. Lots of work but also a lot of opportunities to learn and try different things. Appreciated the supportive environment and the way in which my supervisor helped develop both my soft skills and hard skills. A great experience overall and I enjoyed the work culture. Mad Hat sets the bar very high in terms of work environment and while the work load is heavy there is a balance of fun and camaraderie which is incredibly motivating in wanting to get things done.

Mad Hat is a PR agency with great values and company culture, everyone is treated like family! I like the flexible, chill and positive working environment, that makes MH stand out from other companies.
